My favorite scene in The Odyssey is when Matt Damon kicked his helmet and screamed in frustration because what most people don’t know is he actually broke his toe in that shot
Today’s “trying to work but your brain randomly remembers a thing from a long time ago to distract you” moment is brought to you by the time my hometown newspaper negged me as hard as it possibly could
Celebrating Fourth of July weekend by donating platelets yesterday and now doubleheader softball with fireworks
Finally finished developing, scanning, and editing the first roll of film I shot in Newfoundland a few weeks ago so here are some frames #filmphotography #35mm

Fun fact: you can request the Florida voter data file and every month they’ll send you a CD with the most incredible graphic design you’ve ever seen
There was one report of softball size (4" diameter) #hail near Maple Bluff, WI Tuesday. (NE Madison metro) Per NOAA's database, the only other occurrence of 4" hail in Dane County dating to 1950 was on July 2, 1960. One of most damaging hail events in Madison history? (📸: Kyle Obremski)
FYI for those in Madison: you’re about to get hit with storms again
One of the cool parts about being a regular blood donor and using the health charts on the Red Cross blood donor app is you can look at your blood pressure time series and see exactly when you started grad school

For some positive city discourse: what’s a city that people put down but you think is great? My vote is for Newark.

It’s a really nice day in Madison for a casual walk to the state capitol
Few things are as self-gaslighting as grading a dozen problem sets in a row that all interpret confidence intervals incorrectly in exactly the same way
Currently remembering how important it is to just take a day off every once in a while to read whatever it is you want to

Me in high school journalism class: why would I ever need to develop the skill of writing about a topic I know nothing about and have no opinion on? Me in grad school writing class referee reports on papers that are way outside of my wheelhouse: *cracks knuckles* I was born for this
Really happy that my brain waited until I’d already worked past midnight to remember that daylight savings time starts tonight 🙃
