Some (much needed) good news: @who.int just announced that the PARTNERS trial in the DRC has launched. They are enrolling patients now to test treatments against Bundibugyo, the virus causing the terrible Ebola outbreak there. 🧪 I wrote about the history and plans a few weeks ago in @science.org:

Can fast, nimble clinical trials deliver a drug for the new Ebola outbreak?

Past outbreaks spawned clever strategies for testing antivirals and antibodies, but researchers will still face major challenges on the ground

I just had a lovely time at the NSV meeting in Montpellier! It was exciting to share my work on how Ebola and Lassa virus trigger divergent stress responses in hepatocytes. Big thank you to the organizers, to my lab and our great collaborators Lay Teng Ang and Kyle Loh at Stanford! #NSV2025
