everyone is always like "read banned books" and then you look up the most frequently banned books recently and it's like all YA slop and fantasy

Don't trust any entity that has to actively market their product as "wholesome media," you're not being sold a reprieve from dark themes and stress, it's a waiver on the basic responsibility that comes with engaging with any media under the premise that the author/publisher can sort that out for you
