I’m in idiot for wading into this, but I can say in my experience that there’s more democratic-socialist discussion about climate, and certainly about Gaza, on X now than on BlueSky, which trends straight liberal. And it’s not true that climate content is always being suppressed over there.

I got over my skis on that one, but I think it's at least arguable. Despite people's exaggerations here, Musk's algorithm tweaks have not *completely* suppressed left voices over there. There are still lots! In aggregate it would be better if there were more (though, y'know, I'm not volunteering).

“A whole civilization will die tonight” is the most vile thing a US president has ever said, certainly during the post-1945 era when they’ve had the power to kill civilizations with the dropping of a bomb. I’m staring into the darkness. May this not be one of the most fateful days in human history.

Children in Gaza are increasingly being bitten by rats as Israel continues to deny displaced families proper shelter under the ongoing blockade. Medical workers report bites on bodies & faces, with overcrowding & collapsing sanitation worsening conditions and leaving children especially vulnerable.
