Trans Silent Hill is one of the few cases where I could see, after going through a harrowing, the protagonist declaring "you have no power over me" working as a climactic resolution.
Igneous Sigil@igneoussigil.bsky.social · 7h agoBut for me, a Silent Hill story should be about the protagonist's things they lie to themselves about and torment themselves over, it's shaped by internal pain, not a cruel world... It's ultimately a sort of "sewage treatment plant of the soul."
On the one hand yes this is funny On the other hand if you accept the premise (particularly "Silent Hill as the Sewage Treatment Plant of the Soul"), a trans Silent Hill would be nightmarish for us in morbidly fascinating ways

God I can't believe how badly I underestimated how long it'd take some mild Mohs surgery on the back of my ear to fully heal. It's not like a life or death thing but it really is just. Obnoxious. Having a divot in my ear. It constantly aches (or worse), and god forbid I bump it.
Love has never needed permission from labels 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 My emptiness of gender lets me see that clearly. Anxiety tightens around transgender lives right now. Why must their chosen bonds still pass through someone else’s gate? Why is the soul they claim treated as a request instead of a right?

I don't want to QRP them but I saw someone post that ME/CFS "overwhelmingly affects queer people", and I'm curious if this is one or another kind of sampling bias- if not, what would the mechanism of that be?
