50k short term rentals on the market - with less than half that number on the long term rental market. These homes are empty and off the rental listing market. Priced out of range of many wage earners capacity and the lack increases costs of housing. And makes people homeless. For profit. #auspol 😡

3/4 of my street is Airbnb. I want a tax. I want a huge tax. I also want us all to stop staying in Airbnb's.

Agree. A spare room in an occupied house is fine. Whole house rentals need restrictions.
It’s the #realestate industry pushing it & #investment brokers capitalising on the CGT and NG options they have had available - making short term investment gains very lucrative. Quick Reno’s and flipping became a thing. As homelessness and poverty increased alongside it. #housing #auspol #society
Airbnbs should be banned.. Don't holiday at the expense of people needing a place to live. Use options like a tent, caravan, hotel or motel for holidays
Your reminder if you're coming to Thailand that any short-term rental less than 30 days requires a hotel or non-hotel accommodation license and if it doesn't have one it is illegal

💯 this 👆🏻 An empty house is an empty house. There's a homelessness crisis, and it can only be remedied by making unavailable empty houses available to people to live in. Tax the AirBnB hosts into oblivion.
