Migration is the biggest dog whistle: they have no policies for Australians. So they focus on people who won’t vote for them and divisive rhetoric to divide and create division and avoid the fact their cupboards and hearts are an empty endless abyss - abcess on Australian values.

If you have a home listed on AirBnB do us all a favour: return it to the long term rental market, and look down upon anyone suggesting they’re ethically investing while stockpiling short term rental listings as their main “passive income”. 😡 #auspol #InvestForSociety 🤨 #housing

www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08... In NSW there’s far more AirBnB’s than there are long term rental listings. The numbers are staggering. And residents are being pushed out for short term profits and those enjoying their holidays with homes to go back to. These are creating #homelessness. #auspol 🤬

50k short term rentals on the market - with less than half that number on the long term rental market. These homes are empty and off the rental listing market. Priced out of range of many wage earners capacity and the lack increases costs of housing. And makes people homeless. For profit. #auspol 😡

Amazing. Far out that was a bad history and I am so very sorry you had to go through that. How are you now? And advocacy is the only way we can survive I think

“49,985 short-stay listings across the state compared to 22,347 long-term rentals” [223%] “Mid North Coast had 4,676 Airbnb listings to 584 long-term rentals” [800%] “Northern Rivers, which includes Byron Bay, had 5,303 Airbnb listings and 393 ongoing rentals” [1349%] #AusPol #AirBnB #Tax

Staggering amount of short term rentals and Ms Shields, running her rental business says it’s not the same thing. One is for short term and the other for long term and long term housing comes up far less frequently. I guess she’s a genius to figure this out. 😳 🤦‍♀️ #Housing

This is a mind blowing number of airbnbs. “Ms Rowe said there were 49,985 short-stay listings across the state compared to 22,347 long-term rentals. “The Mid North Coast had 4,676 Airbnb listings to 584 long-term rentals and the Northern Rivers… had 5,303 Airbnb listings and 393 ongoing rentals.”

Your reminder if you're coming to Thailand that any short-term rental less than 30 days requires a hotel or non-hotel accommodation license and if it doesn't have one it is illegal

In towns where thousands of homes are Airbnbs, renters want a tax

Homelessness NSW says it is easier to get a holiday rental than a long-term rental — and that needs to change. But the industry says those claims are unfair.
