When disability happens to you, you won’t be able to just “try harder”. The social supports you think magically appear? They won’t show up. The medical system will let you down. Friends & family will abandon you. You will realize disability advocates were right all along.

"I Swear I'm Okay" It's dark art day. I originally finished this a few months ago but wasn't in the headspace to post it. It's a reflection on how at times physical pain is just a manifestation of intense stress, shame, denial, or other emotions we hide from the surface.
