I saw someone use the term "meat proxies" for people who answer those seeking information or advice from other experienced human beings with "Claude says ___" and regurgitates what an llm says the answer is AS IF WE DONT ALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE SAME LLM'S anyway, don't be a meat proxy

Actually, whats even more annoying about this is that the rode systems that I'm leaning towards forces me to the rode central desktop app TO DELETE FILES Mobile app can do updates and settings. Nobara mounts the devices as a storage drive so I can grab recordings. It's read only though Fml man

Man, I've had zero issues being on Linux for months now. HOWEVER Now that I'm researching wireless mic solutions for my camera I'm running into the issue that every piece of software to manage files, update firmware, change settings...is not supported. And so far there's little to no workarounds

I'm sorry, but it wasn't inevitable that a meteor would hit at the right place and time to wipe out the dinosaurs and pave the way for new species, including us. So don't tell me ai is inevitable We have agency in the world. We can end things we don't like.

Just got the results of annual blood work. Everything is good, except my a1c is still on the edge of prediabetic. On one hand....god damn it I've worked my ass off to lose 55 pounds and I'm still on the edge. On the other, I was fully prediabetic previously, among other things, and now I'm not

"Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?" Might just be the most powerful line of a song ever written imho. I also fully realize its a pretty regional song that a lot of people probably wouldn't have heard of Makes me think every time I hear it tho

Hey maker and creator friends, I have a question for those of you who make videos. I'm looking at wireless mic systems and I'm leaning towards rode mostly because I trust them as a brand. I'm wondering what systems you use, and if you have any recommendations It's my first time externally recording

A very long time ago I was into knife making, and someone very graciously sent me this old unused grinder so a starry eyed kid could follow a dream. Life fuckin hit and that never happened. This is the first time it's even had a belt on it. Hopefully this is the start of a fun hobby again!

Belt grinder sits in busy living room with fresh belt on it for the first time in over a decade

My business made money today! Was it from selling products? ...no Was it from selling tools needed to make products? ...yes, but I just restored a bigger saw so I didn't need the contractor saw as much as I needed 500 bucks 🤣 SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS PERSON HERE lmfao

So I've got a 2 time forged in fire contestant that does classes near me. Primarily small knife classes...but I want to get into smithing in general soooo Would it be weird to contact them and ask if they'd do a session or two showing how to make a hammer and tongs 🤣

Chinook salmon have recolonised 88% of their historic range on the Klamath River, with more than 13,000 fish passing the old Iron Gate Dam site in 2025, up from 7,700 the year before. Two years after the dams’ removal, it’s going better than anyone predicted. buff.ly/pToC9gB #ShareGoodNewsToo

Spent a very long time yesterday and today learning Canvas of Kings and pushing it to its limits with this massive map. I honestly barely scratched the surface of how intricate/detailed it can be. This is just meant for a city overview, so I didn't want to get too deep/perfectionist about it

Map of a fantasy city named Ennrio. It's shaped like a 7 petal flower. There are 7 outer districts, Entertainment district up top (casinos, shows, big taverns, concerts, etc), then clockwise Fields (all farms), Orchid (rich people and municipal buildings), Mass Market (majority of non specialized labor), The Graves (pantheons and cemetery), Hawthorn Hills (middle income housing), Coal Town (heavy industry and low income housing). In the center is the mage college and several Archmage towers.
