#tdih 1952 22-yr-old WAC Sarah Louise Keys Evans from NC bravely refused to give up her seat for a white man on charter bus from NJ to NC. She was arrested, filed suit (with lawyer Dovey J. Roundtree), & won in Keys v. Carolina Coach Co. #TeachTruth Read ⬇️. 🧵 www.zinnedproject.org/news/tdih/sa...

In the section of hell reserved for people who play videos etc on public transport without headphones, I hope they save an extra special seat for the old white man on my bus who refused (when asked) to turn off a news segment he was playing for all to hear about a woman "plunging to her death."

We need a social section on any communal transport (buses, planes, trains, etc) for all the chatty people to make friends and leave the other passengers in headphone-wearing peace.
