Economists have a name for what's coming to your grocery bill: #climateflation. This summer's heatwave will push European food prices harder than the war that closed Hormuz. Bread first. Then meat. Then your mortgage rate. I dug deep. Worth your time. www.forbes.com/sites/we-don...
Why Climateflation Will Drive Food Prices More Than War
Economists expect this summer's heatwaves to drive 2027 food prices more than the Iran war. Climateflation, explained: from your grocery bill to your mortgage rate.

Europe is burning, and half-truths are spreading with the flames. Yes, some fires are arson. Yes, global totals may look low. But heat and drought make fires easier to ignite, faster to spread and harder to control. Read our analysis on the misinformation behind the charts.
Lies spread like wildfire, and half-truths move even faster
The climate community has to get better at combating skeptics' exploitation of uncertainty to cast doubt on the connection between global warming and wildfires. It’s shaping up to be a brutal sum...

This shows the importance of social media and why we need social media with humans and not bot farms of disinformation.
I saw an interview with one of the migrants from Morocco. He said he had seen on social m that once you made it across, ”you could stay in Spain”. That was enough to convince people to risk their lives. I’m surprised this angle hasn’t received more attention.
Whenever I see #X quotes sourced in European #Press it feels wrong and irritates me. Using #WSocial since a few month, I get so used to the 🇪🇺 #SocialNetwork and hope we will soon see #W as source for European politicians. Do you have a similar feeling? I am surprised how wrong it feels by now.
Happy to see professor Bill McGuire, one of the world's leading voices on climate science, build his @theguardian.com column today on my investigation: 45 climate policies reversed in one year, while wildfires rage. ⚠️ www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Wildfires are raging – and the world has junked 45 climate pledges. Disaster looms, and little wonder | Bill McGuire
Five years ago, I wrote an open letter asking climate scientists to speak out. Now governments are in retreat, it is surely time to act, says climate professor Bill McGuire

This is a pretty cool memory. In 2021, after We Don’t Have Time pioneered large-scale digital climate conferences, Facebook copied us and launched its own Sustainability Forum. They did it once. We kept building 5 yrs later, we are challenging US Big Tech with W. Funny how things come full circle
Climate coverage is shrinking, even as the climate crisis intensifies. Meanwhile, there have been 45 climate policy reversals across 15 jurisdictions in just one year. Read more from @wedonthavetime.wsocial.eu & @ingmar.wsocial.eu app.wedonthavetime.org/posts/c374dd... 📊 We Don't Have Time

Is climate policy really going backwards, or does it just feel that way? I spent days verifying the answer: 45 rollbacks in one year, across 15 jurisdictions. Six of them during Europe's record heatwave. It is worse than it feels. Here is the list app.wedonthavetime.org/posts/c374dd...

I am so 😡🤬😤😖 I’ve been following climate politics for a long time. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this upset. As the climate crisis accelerates, our leaders aren’t accelerating climate action. They’re reversing it. Everywhere. US, Canada, New Zealand, EU and now UK!
Not many people know this about me. Long before I founded We Don’t Have Time or helped build W, I was a self-taught programmer. It all started on my brother’s Amiga 500, where I learned Amiga BASIC. Later I moved on to C, programming on an Amiga 1200 and eventually an Amiga 4000.
The future is worth building only if places like this remain.
Spending the day on the water with an electric boat. No engine noise. No exhaust. Just the sea, the wind and good company. The best tech helps us experience the world more fully. That’s why I love electric boats That’s why I’m involved in W Less noise. More nature. More real human connection. 🌊⚡
What’s happening in our oceans right now will affect every one of us. I wrote a long-read article in Forbes explaining why. If you want to understand what the graph below really means for your future, I recommend reading it. www.forbes.com/sites/we-don...

My exceptional Canadian friend Amy K—who works for regional government there—posted this a couple of days ago. I think it echoes some of your excellent words very well. The 12k+ response reinforces my belief that well crafted satire making clear and important points can be a potent force for good.
Imagine watching your neighbour's house burn down and, instead of helping, complaining about the smell of the smoke.
Something feels deeply broken. Canada is burning. Around 1,000 wildfires. Europe has just experienced a heatwave estimated to have killed more than 20,000 people. The climate crisis is accelerating. Yet our political response is moving in the opposite direction.
One day you’ll realize that almost everything you worried about never happened. The time you spent worrying did.
The EU changed its carbon market rules on Friday and never said what it adds up to. So I spent the weekend doing the math. Up to half of Europe's remaining 1.5°C budget, handed out in one proposal. www.forbes.com/sites/we-don...

The U.S. leaves the Paris Agreement. Increases fossil fuel subsidies. Then threatens Canada with tariffs because wildfire smoke crosses the border. Reality has developed a remarkable sense of irony
No signal. No notifications. No endless noise. Just mountains, silence, and the strange feeling of becoming fully human again.
