Y’all. They signed papers in early January and then decided not to come to school before classes started. There’s no world where the conditions under which they signed these papers, decided not to attend school, and get sued for a combined $1 million is anything other than straight up exploitation.

The lawsuits were filed against edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen and offensive lineman Devin Harper. The university seeks $550,000 from Umanmielen and $400,000 from Harper, according to the lawsuits filed Monday in Lafayette County Circuit Court in Oxford, Mississippi. buff.ly/PUrb8nE

I want us to think carefully about what this lawsuit says about a class of students: that they owe the university their labor, or else. I don’t care what legal standing the university has here, they’re suing students for wanting to go elsewhere and that’s simply deplorable.
