Hi there, and welcome to #FridayFucksorSucks, a weekly game with simple rules: guns fuck or they suck. This week: the Sunlun Arms Auslufs, a break action 12 Gauge single shot shotgun with a four round magazine and an automated arm chambering rounds. Based on an old kit; new models sold in Canada.

The shotgun broken open, with it's normal formfactor behind it.The gun broken open. You can see that the gun is TECHNICALLY a break action shotgun, which is legal in a lot of places most guns aren't. Something like this is a useful legal workaround for states that don't allow semiautomatics but you can see from the large number of small pieces and the general openness of the system that while these give you an additional capacity they are prone to jamming and complex to repair and work on, at least compared to a break action.Loading the magazine is done by pushing the system out of the way and pushing a tab up to connect it to the chamber side while you load shells. In the original, you had to hold the mechanism out of the way while you reloaded. In this, that system DOES allow for easier reloading. It is also a part that, when worn out, can jam the gun open.Because these are popular in Canada, the actual length of the barrel matters significantly less than it does in the United States. This may be changing in the near future but until recently it was a significant consideration of most gun owners because of the NFA.
