Just putting it out there. It would be lovely to see Monica Lennon back in Parliament. An extremely principled, hard working woman who holds herself with such decorum. A return to respectful debate and consensus politics would be all the more possible with Monica at the helm of Scottish Labour.
Check this dug oot! In Oregon and playing at dosmariposas.vineyard on Wednesday. If you’re into Scottish folk music, mon doon🍷 🎟️ → www.dosmariposasvineyards.com/events/
Tour so far… 🇺🇸🏴 gigs? 6 workshops? 2 miles driven? 931 motels with blood stains on sheet? 1 If you like my Scottish music, my content, my patter. Now is a great time to download some music on Bandcamp or join my Patreon. ❤️ www.patreon.com/ionafyfe ionafyfe.bandcamp.com
For $82, I wouldn’t expect a blood stained sheet. As a touring Scottish folk musician in the US, I keep costs down by booking inexpensive places, but this takes the cookie. It’s already exhausting trying to make a living as a musician, being ripped off by properties makes it all the more uncomfy 1/2
Today is International Nelson Mandela Day, an annual global celebration recognised by the United Nations to honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela 🇿🇦 The song ‘When Mandela Danced in The Square’ was written by Ian Davidson to commemorate Nelson’s visit to Glasgow in 1993. #NelsonMandela
I’ve just driven six hours from LA to San Jose and the snoring of someone in the motel room next to me is keeping me awake. Paper thin walls. Oh the glamour of being a touring musician. 😭✨

Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦🍁 Sending love from Scotland to our Canadian cousins with a wee sing song. Scarborough Settler's Lament was written by a Scots immigrant. Sandy Glendinning was one of the many Scots who settled in the bold highlands east of Toronto in the 1800s. #Emigration #CanadaDay #Scotland

With Glastonbury taking a year off, this festival shines a light on the grassroots
A music festival taking place over what would usually be Glastonbury weekend is looking to turn the spotlight on the nation's struggling…

may go longer on this at some point but also think it's something all left figures should think about! if you're the sort of person the press and elites will attack regardless then you cannot give anyone even an inch, your politics must be the only attackable thing about you
Zohran Mamdani never taking off the suit is really funny and also I think genuinely a really good bit of personal branding. He is to some degree making himself a character by always having the same costume on, with occasional modifiers

It’s not every day that you get to drive up to the most beautiful region to deliver a speech and watch a tremendous cohort of students sing, dance and perform at their Presentation Ceremony. I was in awe of the powerful speeches delivered by previous Consuls, Maia and Alexia
