Listening to www.cbc.ca/player/play/... , they observe that the New Deal era wealth taxes weren't supposed to generate revenue, they were supposed to limit disparity. Somehow the convos I see about these taxes talk about how they "don't actually generate revenue" and it feels like subversion.
