People in civilised nations just getting on with living happy and fulfilling lives, whilst UK tabloids and rightwing media keep obsessing over whether bicycles are a danger to the public.

A few highlights from my Cycleway 1 trip home yesterday. Useless cycle boxes, and car choked streets and junctions in Stamford Hill. @tflondon.bsky.social says Cycleways are high-quality cycle routes and are easy to navigate, helping riders of all levels feel safer and more confident! Seriously?!

It's been 10 years since Cycleway 1 was "built" (what was built exactly?), and we're no closer to having any of these junctions made better for those using the route. Drivers blocking cycle boxes and driver priority over cycles is still the order of the day.

I'm sorry to say @tflondon.bsky.social @hackneycouncil.bsky.social @willnorman.co.uk that I don't think these C1 signs are doing much to protect people cycling against these sorts of drivers. Weird that.

As if we don't have enough problems on Cycleway 1 already! We also see drivers like this sticking gaffer tape over their licence plates so they can drive through LTN filters! This twat also bullied people on bikes further ahead with his aggressive horn honking. Worth reporting?

Why would a council like @hackneycouncil.bsky.social put these blasted things on a cycle track was already too narrow for two-way cycle traffic (effectively narrowing it even more as they're just the right height to clip your handlebars)!? Madness! More Cycleway 1 nonsense.

It's very hard to get excited about pavement widening without cycle lanes. Just results in more conflict between motorists and people on bicycles in the remaining space, and more dangerous overtaking.
