New ActiveCollab self-hosted release landed today: v8.0.399 🚀 Tasks have multiple assignees, each with their own estimate, for precise planning and workload management. Plus, an all-new text editor.

Customer asked for a way to remove notes from MCP, as they don't want for third parties (which Cloud models are) to have access to them. We added Restricted MCP Tools 🔐 Now you can disable whole tools or individual features of a tool (like fetching notes in get by ID tool).

Performance is the evergreen feature. If you ever run out of ideas about how to make a piece of software better, just make it faster.

Another day, another batch of improvements: 🔐 Passkeys let you have your cake and eat it too - secure AND fast sign in ⚙️ Work with multiple assignees, each with their own estimate, with ActiveCollab's MCP server.

Agents let me quickly dig really deep. For rich link cards in the app, we need media card component in design system, and URL unfurling in the backend, with background processing, retries, SSRF hardening, rate limiting… Such detailed spec used to take a whole day, now an hour.

New MCP tool lands Monday: reorder 🔀 Just tell the agent how you want tasks prioritized (by dependencies, sequence, or any order) and it will arrange them for you. PS: MCP is available for self-hosted accounts in v8.0.333, in case you missed it.

Pro tip: Click on user's workload summary for the day (color-coded number of available hours) to see how ActiveCollab came up with the number - meetings, tasks, estimates, all is there.
