Tô numa sala de videoconferência da PUCRS; na sala ao lado, uma pessoa compartilha detalhes sobre sua vida sexual. Não sei se ela acha que as salas são à prova de som ou se simplesmente decidiu fazer terapia em público mesmo.

Eu particularmente adoro a fórmula sintética “chega me [verbo no pretérito perfeito]” (e.g., “chega me machucou”) em vez da mais antiga “chegou a me [verbo no infinitivo]” (e.g., “chegou a me machucar”).

say what you will about AI, always-on voice recording and auto dictation has been a game changer for my workflows. Save post and close app. Yeah Footlong meatball sub on white. No veggies. Don't toast it. Ranch and barbecue sauce. Yeah, ranch and bargecue sauce. More. More. Little more please

i think a lot of studios are realizing that they've just been trying way too hard by making actual tv shows, movies, etc and that a terrifying number of people just want absolute lowest-investment dogshit they can use to completely zone out

I can confirm that studios are obsessed with these and with getting them right. The success of YouTube shorts and, like, TikTok, Instagram, et al has caused something close to panic. A deluge is coming.

This is wild. 93% of the renewable electricity generation added to the Irish grid over that last decade now powers data centers, rather than reducing fossil fuel use. Data centers have pretty much annihilated the health and climate benefits those renewables could have provided.

What is even more striking is that data centre demand has matched 93% of the growth in renewable electricity generation (wind + solar + hydro) over the past decade. If we measure since 2020, data centre demand has grown nearly 3-times faster than renewable electricity growth.
