I am so triggered by RJK Jr's comment about ICU's being empty during #COVID. I re-read what I wrote after one of the surges. How do others forget. The trauma was--and is--real.

I couldnt believe it when a sample came through my lab in adelaide. The lung wash came up so full of coal dust. The macrophages were buggered and not able to do their job as so full of coal.

I would like to propose the Taco Bell Principle When a person/institution Did A Problem, & IMMEDIATELY fesses up & takes proactive steps to solve it That's exactly what we want them to do? So how bout we let them live ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

Ugh. Snr mgmt still trying to push AI as some big amazing thing for the company. Gonna get a rude shock when the bubble bursts
Dear companies. Would you pay another company the same fees if you knew AI was doing most of the work instead of people? Would you sue if you found out later? Demand a refund? Why then should we pay same price for products when you’ve used less people to make it?
Dear music, book, and art industry. Would you pay an artist the same amount if you knew the art they were getting you to sign them for was made by AI? Would you sue if they signed without declaring it? Guess what? We feel the same about AI content. Its a lower value purchase and we want it declared

Omg. The swisse ad is so powerful. But it ISNT starting a campaign to contact politicians asking for more research funding for womens health or urging people to do anything. Its just trying to endear the brand to angry women. And the brand targets vulnerable women

Australia’s eSafety commissioner buried a report (released Friday afternoon) that shows the under 16 social media ban didn’t tangibly reduce teen social media use, and also resulted in parents tuning out of kids usage. We traded our privacy for no reason. theconversation.com/more-than-80...

Amen. Also a worker who is forced to pretend they use AI at work to meet metrics/expectations is less productive, not more efficient. But their quality will likely be higher and falsely skew any metrics on quality of AI outputs. Dont demand it. People would rather fake it that have sub par AI slop
"A worker who spends 2 hours commuting to sit on video calls with colleagues in other cities is not experiencing culture. That worker is experiencing theater.... many employees experience lost time, higher costs and lower autonomy." thehill.com/opinion/tech...

EVs and hybrids approach half of Australian new car sales amid ongoing fuel crisis
EVs and hybrids approach half of Australian new car sales amid ongoing fuel crisis
Australians bought EVs and hybrids at nearly same rate as petrol cars between April and June, Australian Automobile Association data shows Australians are now buying electric and hybrid vehicles at the same rate as traditional petrol-powered cars, according to new data that shows EV sales doubled in the months after the peak of the fuel price spike. Fuel prices are again on track to top $2 a litre, after the federal government’s fuel excise reductions – introduced to offset the impact of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East – came to an end on Sunday. Its so complex. You need an A and a B but you need a pairing where the male and female pairings open at the same time. Hoping some self pollination occurs anyway as my seed tree is about 10 now and no flowers yet. Sure this is the year.
Did you know that the flowers of avocado trees change sex every day? Scientists have noticed this nearly 100 years ago but only now do we how it works. Life is amazing.

We really do have to stop burning ALL forms of fossil fuels as soon as possible. “2026 is just the beginning,” Professor Rockström added. “It will inevitably get worse. It will get worse and worse and worse to the point where, I’m afraid, we’ll be passing the limits of adaptation.”
Australia. Pay attention. For end users, look into upparell. They recycle most used textiles if you pay for shipping. We just have a collection box and do a shipment every 12 months or so.
