International Virginia Woolf Society

The International Virginia Woolf Society exists for the benefit of readers and scholars of Virginia Woolf throughout the world. https://v-woolf-society.com

Despite her contemporary status as a major modernist, Woolf’s own career was one of an Insider / Outsider and of academic adjacency. She thought a great deal about Common Readers and of criticism written off the lawns of Oxbridge. She turned down both honorary degrees and literary awards.

We're glad you liked our 2024 book list. We've done one every year we've been publishing. It's a lot of work done by contingent historians, work that's often not rewarded professionally even as people in the profession consume it. See all of our book and article lists here. 🗃️

BEST DAY—the 2024 NTT lit studies books & articles list pub day! Please admire, read, share, cite, borrow/buy books, and, of course, organize as you can to create better working conditions for ALL scholars. Thanks as always to @erinbartram.bsky.social & pls support @contingent-mag.bsky.social! 🎉📚💪

A companion to our history lists, here's a list of books, chapters, and articles published in 2024 in lit studies by scholars working off the tenure track. Compiled by @rcolesworthy.bsky.social and @hartmann-villalta.bsky.social.

Remember our extended deadline for conference abstracts! And grad students, we welcome you - so tell us about your dissertation and scholarship, whether or not it sparked the fury of the worst parts of internet culture. 😉
