The U.S.'s current anti-diversity efforts are, predictably, having a direct affect on funding of #OpenSource software security efforts. I hope other sources - both public & private - will step up to help fund the essential role of open source software stewards.

as a condition of funding, we were asked to affirm that we wouldn’t undertake any diversity, equity, and inclusion work, whether or not we used the government funds to do so. The PSF simply couldn’t agree to that statement,

I posted this last week, asking for #Python users to fill out a silly little survey. I got quite a few responses! I can use this! It'll be hilarious! I can still use more answers, though. I hope with a few more responses I get more obvious standouts answers. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Informal Pointless Python Survey

This is an informal, unscientific survey of (sort of) Python questions, with which I'd like to try to make something amusing, maybe something involving families feuding somehow. (I may have been inspi...

Use #Python at all? I would like to do a silly thing, which I hope will bring amusement to others as well as me (if it works out). If you wouldn't mind, please fill out this form, and boost for reach: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

For Global Accessibility Awareness Day #GAAD tomorrow, I hope that our publicly available work on accessibility and visualization is a helpful resource. This isn't a short and sweet top-5 list of things to do but a richly documented evaluation of the ecosystem of a data science tool.

Typical interaction in an #ADHD household: bumping into my partner at the house entrance. Him: where are you going with the dog? Me: to the groomers H: true forgot about it Me: where have you been? H: had to pick up the car from the garage, I told you yesterday Me: ah yes, I forgot about that

The last couple of weeks have been hard. This in particular feels the hardest for unknown reasons. Not having access to my #ADHD meds has created a big hole in my coping toolbox and I am experiencing ADHD burnout like never before. I am so glad to have an extended support network right now.

My week without meds so far: - keep having to ask what I was talking about mid way through the conversation - inbox driven overwhelm - forgot to drink water or eat then had a migraine - 12 hours work day followed by 12 hours sleep And it's only Wednesday

Once again there is a shortage of my #ADHD meds, tried every pharmacy in a 15 miles radius with no luck. Apologies to whoever needs a meeting with me in the next couple of weeks. It's going to be a wild ride.

Story of my life: Them: we are building/launching "whatever" and would love your feedback/insights/help to finalise our strategy Me: sure my hourly rate is "y" Them: we do not have a budget for this Me: so you were expecting free labour for your product/non-open source tool/business Them:...
