Session 1 of recording our #Daggerheart narrative actual play starts today! Last weekend was character creation and getting comfortable with the world (confined to a single, isolated city) we've built. This is the session where everything in that world changes.
Recording began on our next @wearelegionpod.bsky.social narrative actual play podcast yesterday. #Daggerheart is our system of choice for this tale and it is incredibly freeing as a GM! "You call this a prison. Yet look how the flowers bloom!"
First Daggerheart PC death and it went really well. There's something about giving the player full control over whether or not their character dies that really just *works*. I (the GM) didnt "feel bad" because *they* made the choice to go out in a Blaze of Glory. The story is richer because of it.

some of us are Type A rule-follower GM types so a system like Daggerheart has enough crunch baked in while allowing for the circumstances of the scene to inform the outcome. i've backed myself into some unfun situations because "well, technically.. the rules say..."
I have too many projects going at once and none of them are GMing any ttrpgs. I'm gonna go crazy!
