I’ve had such a fab few days in the @guildhalllibrary.bsky.social with the wonderful @tracelarkhall.bsky.social! Seeing the Butcher’s Company Royal Charter from 1605 was a real highlight, as was handling a property deed from as early as 1548🤩

So sad to hear about the passing of Joanna Carrick (03/01/68 - 12/01/26), the much-loved founder and Artistic Director of @redrosechain.bsky.social. I’ve seen the Theatre In The Forest production every year and they are always magical – Jo was phenomenally talented and will be sorely missed.
Update - it was great!! Such a fun concept and so well-executed - I particularly enjoyed the hand-puppet Rosencrantz 🐰 Thanks to @norajw.bsky.social for bringing this production to little old Colchester - thoroughly enjoyed it🌟

Nearly time for my second Hamlet production of the week! I found the RSC production really underwhelming, despite its great cast – Alistair Petrie (Sex Education's Mr Groff!) as Claudius, and Francesca Mills (from the Globe's phenomenal Duchess of Malfi) as Ophelia – 🤞 for 'A Two Woman Hamlet'!
Hard to pick, but my vote would be for my beloved Cambyses (Preston, c.1561?) or Tancred and Gismund (Wilmot et al, 2nd edition c.1591) – both spectacularly violent plays!

Saw the Globe’s Troilus and Cressida on a whim yesterday - such a fantastic production! i would never have thought to double Helen and Thersites but it was a stroke of genius.
