Finally, resilience. Low-resource settings have spent decades managing outbreaks, supply shortages and fragile health systems. Those experiences have produced practical expertise in surveillance, adaptability and crisis response that wealthier countries would be wise to value more highly.
Hugely important, and under-discussed. Every mental health professional and ER professional should be talking about this specific phenomenon, and as Dr. Basedow points out, similar phenomenon in other fields early and often. I would argue even without AI, this is an incredibly important topic.
