I have a question for the #OSINT community and also journalists…🙏 Every time the newspapers write a story based which is based on an FOI, I can never find it on either the government website or the What Do They Know site. What am I missing? Is there some other source I can try? Any help?

Another excellent thread from Emma. Written clearly enough that surely an idiot would understand it.* *not holding my breath though
No, European heatwaves are not CAUSED by a fall in air pollution. The word CAUSED is doing an awful lot of heavy lifting here! Let's look at what the study being 'reported' on was actually researching and what it found🤓 1/22 🧵
If you have more than one brain cell, Emma's worth a follow to service all your debunking misinformation needs

Emma Monk has more journalistic integrity in her little finger than @telegraph.co.uk has in its entire being

Excellent stuff! Well worth reading (as usual). Thanks Emma.👍

Another excellent @monkemma.bsky.social debunks on that shameful Telegraph Article twisting a scientific paper to climate denying end. And the clue that they knew that what they were doing was misleading lies in their final little statement. monkdebunks.substack.com/p/heatwaves-...
Heatwaves Caused by Fall in Pollution? Not really...
What a study on European warming actually found and how it got twisted into a climate-denial talking point.

Another great debunk from the brilliant @monkemma.bsky.social. I don't know how she has the energy/ patience but it is a huge public service: monkdebunks.substack.com/p/heatwaves-...

"Misleading headlines designed to push a divisive narrative are bad enough. But headlines that risk vulnerable people doing something they’re not allowed to do are deeply irresponsible." Quite right @monkemma.bsky.social and thank you. westcountryvoices.co.uk/hosepipe-ban...
Hosepipe bans and the benefits myth - West Country Voices
Why just claiming benefits doesn’t exempt you – and why the headlines saying otherwise could land people with fines I wonder how many people claiming benefits will read these headlines and think they ...

Really excited to be collaborating with @hackedoff.bsky.social on the subject of media disinformation!
"suggesting that people will choose to have a low income AND have a medical condition such as Crohn’s Disease or incontinence, all for the ‘benefit’ of being able to use a hosepipe to water their garden, is such utter nonsense." by @monkemma.bsky.social 🙏👏 monkdebunks.substack.com/p/hosepipe-b...

monkdebunks.substack.com/p/hosepipe-b... An excellent and accurate public information piece from @monkemma.bsky.social. Emma also exposes the ridiculous and deliberately divisive comments by the right-wing - they never miss a chance to demonise do they - the bastards.

@telegraph.co.uk @lbc.co.uk @gbnewsonline.bsky.social Will you take responsibility when the 90%+ of benefit claimants who are NOT EXEMPT assume they’re ok to use a hosepipe based on your headlines? 🤷🏼♀️
The more I've looked at this story, the angrier I've become. Misleading headlines designed to push a divisive narrative are bad enough. But headlines that risk vulnerable people doing something they’re not allowed to do are deeply irresponsible. 1/3

Once again, my MP, Suella Braverman, demonstrates that she's at serious risk of departing the human race, by promoting clickbait nonsense about a series of perfectly reasonable rules on water-use for vulnerable groups.
Unsurprisingly, a number of people asked me to look at this story doing the rounds on all the right-wing media 🧐 So let's take a look at who is exempt from the ban and why, and when this "two-tier" situation came about (spoiler - it's nothing new!) 1/20

Emma is the best of us. That this kind of debunking is such a refreshing chance is a damning indictment of our media.
This headline is misleading. Not in the usual way I cover - but language matters. I suspect this is lazy headline writing, but who knows? The figures will and should shock people! And I will also cover one of the pervasive retorts - "yes, but what about army veterans..." 🧵 1/23
Buckle up. I’ve been waiting for her next deep dive.

That’s quite a take! Farage is still somehow the victim of the thing he himself decided to do! 😂😂😂

Scurrilous 'journalism' from the Daily Mail again. A school friend *in the early 1990s* started learning at 16 - because he'd had his leg amputated after leukemia.
Let's take a look at this claim as "revealed" by the Daily Mail. TLDR - It's taken them a reeeeeally long time to "reveal" this law 😜 So what's the reality behind this headline? 🧵 1/23
If anyone is wondering how many people this affects… In the last 19 years (that’s the data I’ve found): 1,765 16 year olds took a driving test Out of a total 30,367,393 tests taken. 0.0058% They had a 59.1% pass rate compared to a national average 47.1% bsky.app/profile/monk...
