tl;dr We are focusing on the wrong things, on prestige and puzzles and not on building software for humanity. So even if LLMs are going to make building software quicker and less errorprone (I don't believe that, but let's for a sec) that is still net negative if are are building bad things

@felienne.bsky.social closing keynote at @dddeu.bsky.social blew me away. First time ever I witnessed a minutes long standing ovation after a talk at a tech conference. She painfully exposed what is wrong in the software industry through her personal story. #dddeu
Finally managed to visit DDD Europe. Great conference so far. Just 4 sessions in, already packed with a lot of new insights. #dddeu
On our way to @amsterdam.voxxeddays.com. You can find us in the JUG Square. See you at the hallway track π
Well, my #Java journey has come to an end. Today my role at Oracle has been terminated. Iβm open to any job leads yβall may have.
Once again, going to @devoxx.uk has helped me work better. I needed some test data for an application for a customer, and remembered @jaapcoomans.nl's talk on DataFaker www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lKz... Result? A delighted customer and a happy developer :)

JUnit is undoubtedly one of the most important projects in the #Java ecosystem. And it's 100% free and open! Let me be frank: If we can't get THIS project to the point where a single maintainer can focus on it, then what does that say about our commitment to Free & Open Source Software? 1/3 β©
Support JUnit
JUnit is maintained by a team of passionate volunteers. This is your chance to give back and support the project!
