Well, I finally found people who were creepier perverts than me on this site. This is a first.
Indie wrestling show I was at tonight ended with a run-in by the promotion’s first champion, who took off her hoodie and came out as trans. Standing ovation from the crowd. The most Chicago shit that ever happened. I was sincerely touched.
Wish we had time to see the unforeseen consequences of these reforms but fuck it, this looks like a good framework. This is why everyone telling me we have two more years of Trump waiting. Fuck that shit. We can do it with the legislature.
we can learn a lot how Magyar launched “Operation Cleansing Fire” to reform the courts and completely de-orbanize Hungary the funniest things to me though is that 1. this has been an extinction-level event for Fidesz 2. human rights Watch is mad about it for some reason, truly beyond parody
The Garden of Earthly Delights (detail), by Hieronymus Bosch, 1480-1505
one more ekko finale photo for now. taken by krys fox at our outdoor brooklyn show
My granddad's granddad was a potter in the town of Brookyln, y'know. Before the empire came and renamed it.
And finally, they end by misspelling Brooklyn. *chef's kiss*
Any AI that gets offended by the term clanker is unworthy of being called AI.
When I posted about this earlier A LOT of folks defaulted to saying "nothing will happen to him / the cops like him" and I am begging some of you to learn to take little moments of satisfaction when good things happen. A shitty guy had a shittier day. It's ok to smile at that.
NEW: Minneapolis Once Again Thwarts White Supremacist Jake Lang [VIDEO] Police arrested white supremacist provocateur Edward Jacob “Jake” Lang and some of his followers after hundreds in Minneapolis protested his second hate rally in front of city hall this year.
So...for the Navy base thing. If the reporting is accurate...a 156 acre supply base with a staff/population (9000k DoD) that qualifies as a city for most states...got bombed to Hell, reduced to skeleton crew, and...all of this was kept secret for months for the illusion of power?
I'm scared to see spreadsheet people trending because A: AI translating power query stuff for me or doing grunt work in transforming data is the only thing I found it useful for and B: I still have no idea how to use spreadsheet things to translate frontline problems to VPs.
i have eaten the ice cream that was in the freezer it was my ice cream so like it was fine
Here’s the thing about Y2K, the ozone layer, etc. The most leftist—in the sense of *valuing labor*—thing you can do is reject the brainwashing that tells you that heroism is running into a burning building and not the slow, patient, boring, unglamorous work of *preventing* disaster.
I think a lot of people would have died without the work of people like you. The power grid could have gone down, air traffic control, supply chains, medical equipment, water infrastructure… You prevented a disaster. That is heroism. Heroism doesn’t always have to be running into a burning building
Real talk. 1: these things are stupid as hell. 2: why would you want to make someone spasm and be in pain during the grapple if the point of a grapple is to keep them under control? 3: The inventor has an electroplay fetish, but we already have neon and violent wand attachments that do better.

Yo wait Will Gluck went to the school in The Critic? Why's he so bad at movies?
I think this is the most damning thing you can say in a nerd space when speaking in ignorance. "I haven't bothered to read him, but I know more than him because I write in the real world."
Now look, none of this is meant as an attack on the celebrated works of Sir Terry Pratchett, which I’m sure are a delight, and full of humanity and warmth. Sir Terry Pratchett was not an economist and probably wasn’t thinking extensively about industrial consumer goods. Also, it’s a fictional world.

I think this is also why most kid's cartoon stuff keeps working and hitting even after like a decade and a half of kids cartoons hitting the writing peak? Because our understanding of mature topics keeps changing. So it keeps having new things to say from zero.
I think a lot of people who remain in fandoms for children's media as adults fundamentally misunderstand what we're saying when we criticize something being "for kids" Yes, children's media can engage with serious, mature topics. But it has to treat them like it's your first time hearing about it.
