Indie wrestling show I was at tonight ended with a run-in by the promotion’s first champion, who took off her hoodie and came out as trans. Standing ovation from the crowd. The most Chicago shit that ever happened. I was sincerely touched.
Wish we had time to see the unforeseen consequences of these reforms but fuck it, this looks like a good framework. This is why everyone telling me we have two more years of Trump waiting. Fuck that shit. We can do it with the legislature.

When I posted about this earlier A LOT of folks defaulted to saying "nothing will happen to him / the cops like him" and I am begging some of you to learn to take little moments of satisfaction when good things happen. A shitty guy had a shittier day. It's ok to smile at that.

I'm scared to see spreadsheet people trending because A: AI translating power query stuff for me or doing grunt work in transforming data is the only thing I found it useful for and B: I still have no idea how to use spreadsheet things to translate frontline problems to VPs.

Here’s the thing about Y2K, the ozone layer, etc. The most leftist—in the sense of *valuing labor*—thing you can do is reject the brainwashing that tells you that heroism is running into a burning building and not the slow, patient, boring, unglamorous work of *preventing* disaster.

The power grid could have gone down, air traffic control, supply chains, medical equipment, water infrastructure… You prevented a disaster. That is heroism. Heroism doesn’t always have to be running into a burning building
Real talk. 1: these things are stupid as hell. 2: why would you want to make someone spasm and be in pain during the grapple if the point of a grapple is to keep them under control? 3: The inventor has an electroplay fetish, but we already have neon and violent wand attachments that do better.

Sir Terry Pratchett was not an economist and probably wasn’t thinking extensively about industrial consumer goods. Also, it’s a fictional world.

I think this is also why most kid's cartoon stuff keeps working and hitting even after like a decade and a half of kids cartoons hitting the writing peak? Because our understanding of mature topics keeps changing. So it keeps having new things to say from zero.

But it has to treat them like it's your first time hearing about it.
