Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

I feel about AI and ChatGPT the same way I feel about Amazon Alexa. I woke up at some point in the mid-twentyteens and realized everyone had installed a listening device in their home, and it's somehow happened again but even worse, but either way I don't understand it and I refuse to learn.

I realized today that the only AI I interact with is against my will. I don't really understand any of this. Is ChatGPT a place on the internet? Don't tell me. I don't care and I don't want to know. I think the is the hill I'll never find that I'm gonna die on.
