This lost cause is worth fighting for The Dem establishment's coronation of a weak Chuck Schumer as Senate majority leader is NOT a done deal if the people fight back Reward the senator who fought Trump when everyone else was cowering in fear My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/van-...

Chris Van Hollen fought when no one else would. Make him Dems’ leader. | Will Bunch

The Establishment’s race to keep Schumer and Jeffries as leaders must be stopped if Dems want to hold onto their midterm gains. Maryland’s senior senator should be on the shortlist.

Notre Dame University was apparently more than happy to give Ron DeSantis a reason to fly on a state jet at taxpayer expense to South Bend to deliver some remarks...and attend the UM - Notre Dame game. Your tax dollars at work, Florida.

JON STEWART: “They're already like, "Chuck Schumer deserves a lot of credit" — Chuck Schumer fought tooth and nail against half of these people… he does not understand the urgency of the moment and what the future demands.”

A stock trading ban for members, limits on the revolving door, an end to fundraising that drains seniors' retirement accounts. Democrats can adopt all of it through House and party rules, without a single Republican vote or a president's signature.

Democrats can and should pass immediately anti-corruption measures that regulate the House, DNC, and other institutions they will have full control over, says @adambonica.bsky.social. newrepublic.com/article/2176...

Gerrymandering was a factor in Tuesday’s results. Look at Texas, where even Democrats got 51-52 of the vote, but Republicans will send 24 members of the 38-seat delegation to Congress. Or Florida, where Republicans won 50-51% statewide, but will hold 20 of the 28 congressional seats. Justin Levitt

I’m not sure how much this is being talked about on here, I haven’t checked, but beneath the (deserved) mass celebrations is a, for Dems, sad thought, imo reality: They would have won the Florida governor and senate races if Dems had put the money and manpower in. They didn’t. They could have had…

The idea that Schumer "built" the majority is farcical. He opposed Stratton, Flanagan, El-Sayed, & Jackson in the primary. Those plus Hamilton, Talarico, & Andrews oppose him for leader now. The majority was built by senators who he opposed and/or who oppose him now.

Here’s the reality about Schumer: He sponsored Alex Vindman, Haley Stevens and Janet Mills. White candidates who BADLY underperformed. He ignored and rejected Angie Nixon, Jamie Davis, Scott Colom and Everett Ness, all of whom GREATLY OVER PERFORMED and got within a hair’s breadth of winning with

Absolute devastation and I love it. The MAGA movement's political power must be destroyed for democracy to endure. This is a decent start. Now they gotta tax the billionaires out of political power.

NBC News projects Democrats win control.

The NBC News Decision Desk is continuing to project races. Our estimate indicates Democrats will ultimately wind up with a 83-seat majority.

We’re just getting started, Florida. 🔥 We broke Republican supermajorities. We won seats despite racist, gerrymandered maps. We flipped races up and down the ballot that the political establishment had written off. And we showed the entire country what people power can accomplish in Florida.

I see signs of a "let's make friends with fascists" movement among some Democrats. No. Dismantle the ICE gulag system. Take Christian nationalism out of the military. Stop White House bribe-taking Nationalize Elon Musk's businesses. Defeat the fascists. Maybe someday we can be friends. Not now.

One of my favorite hobbies is watching private religious schools receive taxpayer vouchers only to install turf on their football fields and build new “athletic complexes.” My local public school has textbooks old enough to vote, and the teachers make less than 40k per year…
