A 3210 point system would be better than what we have now, but we could get all of its benefits with an even simpler system: base the standings on regulation record, and break ties using post-regulation games. Can only gain ground with regulation wins, can only lose ground with regulation losses.

Three point games are on the rise, it's time for a 3-2-1 point system, Askarov's elite penalty killing, Zuccarello's return, MTL's inconsistent goaltending, and more things we learned around the NHL in November www.nytimes.com/athletic/685...

Not a great look from Sennecke on that goal (same from a few others on that play). If Sennecke wants to stick he has to be better at stopping the progression from D men from the point

I’m very curious to see how Sennecke looks today. He had a really rough rookie faceoff where I think he really needs a good showing tonight to have a chance to make the opening day roster

Yzerman & Verbeek were working on this trade for a while; retention was a sticking point. Really like this for Detroit. 2nd + 4th is a fine bet on a #1 goalie, in my mind. Sources indicate that 1st + Anton Johansson was the ask earlier this year, happy that didn't happen. #LGRW

🚨 TRADE ALERT 🚨 The Detroit Red Wings have acquired goaltender John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for goaltender Petr Mrazek, a 2nd round pick & a 4th round pick (both future years)! #LGRW What do you think about Steve Yzerman bringing in a hopeful #1 goalie? ⤵️

That Gibson trade is an interesting one. I think it’s an underwhelming return when you look at how long the Gibson trade saga has gone on, but also from a value perspective I think it’s about right when you consider the 6.4 mil in space in 26-27 that the Ducks get from this.

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.

With that Terry rumor on the other site, my view based on the latest tweet is that Terry was discussed as part of a package for a bigger player, but that does not mean he’s actively being shopped, just means that he is not untouchable. IMO there are few players on the team that are untouchable
