I've stopped using google maps. I'd use it again in a totally unfamiliar city, but I always used to use it going to any new place. I jokingly call it "fighting the last war" but I really notice how I have to pay a different kind of attention actually watching for the road signs

If you ever feel conflicted about how AI is affecting your cognition, here's an interesting experiment: Learn to use an abacus. I'm dead serious. I do think we lost something when we stopped doing arithmetic with our bodies. But in other ways we gained a lot. Technology is tradeoffs!

re Fable: - first time I can think of when frontier went backwards...probably not the last time - dynamic workflows of Fable scoping + reviewing work that Opus/Sonnet did worked well. I had been skeptical that I'd ever voluntarily use a "worse" model but it honestly worked

ATTN Atmosphere: I am looking for work & would appreciate any leads/tips/quick zooms Software engineer + as much LLM experience as any of us can pretend to have. In Maine, but would move for the right role (& prefer in-person, though remote is okay too). Open to flexible/less technical roles too

don't forget that there are droves of folks that care and are building towards a better future for everyone, but our comms tools are constantly bombarding us with the worse of humanity instead of celebrating them
