Retired TSO with a rare autonomic disease. The endless possibilities of Science and engineering is my Jam! Plus I'm a time traveller, moving forward 1 second per second in time.

I’ve got a question for you all. As we get older, does our perception of time change, making the year feel shorter? Add your age and tell us: how many month's/days does a single year feel like to you? I'll start. Aged 51, answer: 8 months.

My Paradox of the day. "If you don't know whether you're right or wrong, you can't confidently be called right. If you think you're right, you might discover you're wrong. Once you realise you were wrong, you now know the truth, so in knowing that you were wrong, you're right about being wrong"

This is Henrietta Lacks. Her HeLa cells transformed medical research, helping advance cancer treatments, vaccines and countless discoveries. Though she never knew the impact of her cells would have, her legacy continues to save and improve lives around the world. We remember you with gratitude.

Sad news coming out of the US this morning. Nobody could save the cheerleader… so I guess that means the world really is coming to an end. Rest in peace Hayden Panettiere.

Any Vauxhall/Opel mechanics on this platform? MERIVA A Easytronic 1.8 2007 No power to the brake switch, fuse ok, no brake lights and a flashing N/A on the dashboard. Voltage in brake plug is 0.01. Brake switch tested ok. Easytronic fuse 60amp ok.

After 2 day's of squeezing through a gap only a child could fit through, I've finally found the cause of car failure. These are the wires to the brake switch. On this car the computer needs to read the brake pedal before starting, without it my car is a giant paperweight.

Fun fact: During a total solar eclipse, the Moon completely blocks the Sun’s visible disk, reducing direct sunlight to essentially zero. For a few minutes, Earth receives less direct solar illumination than Neptune over 4.5 billion km from the Sun.

I recommend every school should show When the Wind Blows in its entirety. Give students the time to watch it without distractions, then discuss it. Its message about nuclear war, ordinary people and the consequences of political decisions remains as powerful and very relevant today as it did then.

I’ve put together this basic poster for anyone interested in today’s solar eclipse. It gives a simple overview of how much of the eclipse will be visible across different parts of Europe, along with the approximate times and some information specifically for Sweden.

When I die, bury me in my walking boots, for there’ll still be forest trail to wander, fields to explore, and countless sticks to throw. A lifetime of walkies still awaits me, and he'll be waiting for me, just beyond the next path. Miss you, Sam. x

In 2013, I built an edge-of-space balloon vehicle, Everything went perfectly until seconds before descent, when the balloon burst, the shock dislodged the primary camera, and it was lost somewhere over the Scandinavian wilderness. This image was recovered from the secondary camera.

In classic sci-fi horror, humanity has faced every imaginable threat from zombies to alien invasions. I'd like to think I'd survive most of them, but there's one scenario where I'd be out on day one: The Day of the Triffids. I'd almost certainly have stopped to watch the spectacular meteor shower.

I can't shake the feeling that the earwig in my house last night was a diplomatic envoy. If that's true, then I may have just committed the first hostile act in what could become humanity's first interspecies war. Time will tell I guess.
