Explored the Jewish Museum and (still operational) synagogue in Belmonte, Portugal. It hit me after that there was no police or security presence at all. We were welcomed in both places- no id checks or anything. I can't remember the last time I went to a synagogue that open and accessible.

The court didn't limit the use of race. Whiteness is a race. They just elevated whiteness as credential. I will call this out on every headline I see with this framing.

They didn't limit the use of race. Whiteness is a race. They just elevated whiteness as credential (thanks @victorerikray.bsky.social for this language and how it informed my thinking). I will call this out on every headline I see with this framing.
