I’m gonna say it here since she disabled comments: The point of this practice is almost never to get new members but to calcify existing ones by inciting backlash, thereby teaching them how hostile the world is to people of their faith. Public shaming plays right into the leadership’s hands.

We need to bring back public shaming. Any chance this is some kind of crime? Causing disruption on an aircraft? I guarantee this wouldn't be allowed if someone whose religion wasn't Christianity tried it.

It’s fun when you can tell something was written before the word “thicc” entered common parlance by how insecure a character is about the size of her ass (i.e. thinking it’s “too fat”) Now I’m sure there are people old enough to vote who don’t remember a time where the “ideal” was small and tight.

Something that I realised when I first started getting more into transfeminism that really made it click for me is that even when people say "trans women are women", they rarely actually mean that. Even a lot of trans women don't fully believe it when they say it, even if they don't realise.

We're still expected to act like a third gender. Sure you fall more into the group of "woman" than the average born male but a lot of the time there's still an implicit understanding that you are to not push too hard on being a real woman. If you talk about the misogyny you face, the ways you enjoy engaging with womanhood, or start happily taking up space, people will often get weirded out. They'll look at you funny, or they may verbalise disgust. A trans woman might be a woman, but it gets awkward when it becomes apparent that the woman in question genuinely believes it to be true and doesn't just want to be humoured.

I fell into this trap for a long time. I would feel uncomfortable even calling myself a woman sincerely because it felt like I was doing something wrong. I was encroaching. I was pushing my luck with what was acceptable for a pseudo-woman to do. If you are a trans woman who feels like this, like you're a separate category of person than just a plain woman, you have to realise something. If your joy makes people disgusted or uncomfortable, that's their problem. Make them uncomfortable, make them squirm (assuming it's physically safe of course). You owe these people nothing. You are a woman, full stop. Embracing that fact without shame or asterisks does wonders for your self esteem.

Today’s “media literacy crisis” moment is people taking this to mean that Jax herself is genderfluid/bigender. This the AUTHOR’s lack of preference for referring to a fictional uncracked egg. (Probably also to reduce potential pronoun policing in the fandom) People took this and ran away with it.

I personally think either is fine but that's just me. It was meant to be kinda subtle and vague, but I'm really bad at making things subtle.

Been trying to read some isekai lately.

Four frames comic about two types of Isekai I found and read lately. The first frame shows a young man with a sword. He says: "My name is Josh Itcantbehelped and I used to be a loser before a car crash brought me to a world where I am a god and half the population is made of SLAVE CATGIRLS". The second frame shows him crying and clenching his fist, with many a cat behind him, wearing bikinis. He says "To make it here I guess I have no choice but to own as many catgirls as I can...how tragic...". The third frame shows another character from another type of Isekai. She's a woman with a fluffy dress. She says "My name is Elise Robespierre and after being hit by a truck of terminal cancer I am now in my favorite 900 pages novel. With many a hot man.". The fourth frame shows her giving a board presentation to citizens, with graphs and pictures of plants on it. She says: "Hello citizens. This is my plan to modernize the agricultural system and prevent any further plague by creating medicine [...] taxes which ..." the text becomes unreadable as she keeps talking to her captive audience.

Welles’ adaptation of “The Trial” is a masterclass in composition, esp. using perspective lines to draw the eye, and frame-w’in-a-frame to make even open spaces feel claustrophobic.

As I try to cut my abdominal fat (which DOES cause health problems), there’s really only one piece of iron-clad advice: Sugary drinks are #1 source of “empty” carbs. Water is always better than soda. If you REALLY need a sweet drink, at least get something with protein, vitamins, or electrolytes.
