By terminating research grants like Kelton's to censor views it doesn’t like, the NIH is blocking scientists from work that would advance public health for all of us. We're pushing back. Tell Congress to demand the NIH restore the grants and stop its censorship campaign at aclu.org/nih_censorship_

I’ll be presenting on research from my new book project for the first time at the 4S conference in Toronto. Stop by Saturday to hear my take on recent efforts to restrict medication abortion in U.S. via claims of water pollution, or reach out so we can grab a coffee. Hoping to catch up w/ STS folks!

After a year as interim department chair, I’m now on research leave. Excited to jump back into writing. If you’ve read anything inspiring in the fields of STS, anthropology of science and medicine, environmental, reproductive or disability studies, please recommend! Bonus points for great writing.

“For example, any org… adopting what Trump has called “gender ideology,” but which is actually just recognition of the biological and social complexity of sex, gender and sexuality — would be ineligible for future federal research funding and could have their current grants canceled as well.”

"Trump seems far more interested in padding his own and his cronies’ pockets than in boosting the fate of humanity. And so, he has given Vought free rein to destroy key engines of progress—including universities, research institutes and professional associations." www.ms.now/opinion/russ...

Mife by mail is still available in all 50 states—pass it on. We just heard from SCOTUS that they are going to continue to allow providers to prescribe mifepristone through the mail–at least until this case has gone through appeal.

If/When/How graphic with a light lime green background about the recent Supreme Court order in the mifepristone case. In the upper right corners is a grainy black dotted circle and same in the lower left. At the top, in bold black is "Breaking news:" It continues in purple, "Mife is still available through the mail and telehealth in all 50 states. Today, the US Supreme Court granted the stay until the appeal in the Fifth Circuit is resolved." Below in huge, black text is "What you need to know." Behind that is a picture of a mifepristone pill.

NEW: The Trump admin has launched moms.gov, featuring "resources, information, and help for new and expecting mothers." The first resource listed: anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers, which appear next to or above federally qualified health centers, depending whether you're on desktop or mobile.

a screenshot from moms.gov featuring this description of crisis pregnancy centers: Pregnancy centers provide supportive services for mothers and families. Many centers offer pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, STD/STI testing and treatment, parenting support, childbirth classes, medical referrals, and material goods like clothes and diapers—at no cost to you. There are more than 2,750 pregnancy centers across the country. The majority of pregnancy centers offer limited medical services. Check with your local center for details.

For those living in rural areas of the U.S., or anywhere within states that have abortion restrictions, today’s ruling will not only have effects on access to reproductive healthcare. It will also take a mental toll.
