Dr Hugo Slim, Director of the Las Casas Institute for Social Justice at Blackfriars Hall in Oxford, offered a research seminar today to faculty and staff of St Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth. The seminar explored the question of “The Church and Humanitarian Aid in War and Disaster.”

A full house tonight at our Annual Trócaire lecture in Maynooth! As keynote speaker Dr. Hugo Slim said “when we should be focused on the survival of humanity and the earth, we are instead focused on defence and preparations for war.”

Minister for Environment Darragh O'Brien is attempting to rush through approval for a €900 million LNG reserve at the cost of the taxpayer & the planet. The proposed legislation would give the Minister full responsibility for the planning application & completely change the normal planning process.
