NEW | Solar generated a QUARTER of EU electricity in June 🇪🇺⚡️ Solar was also the single largest source of power generation (25%) ahead of nuclear (21%), gas (15%) and wind (14%). Five years ago, in 2021, solar was still at 10% in June.

Correct your priors: Private money is going after clean energy, governments are using public money to prop up fossil fuels "About 59% of all money spent on the fossil fuel system came from taxpayers in 2015. By 2025, that climbed to 68% and spiked at 78% in 2022." www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...

A NEW TWIST in Africa's soaring solar story: It's now manufacturing its own panels. The factories use imported Chinese cells, which are 40% of the value of panels, keeping much of the value domestically. 9 GW of cells+wafers in Mar/Apr alone🧵

Germany has 2.5 GW of grid batteries operational and a 10.5 GW pipeline. If that pipeline had been online in 2025, it could have avoided a third of wind and solar curtailment and saved ~€0.8bn. New @ember-energy.org analysis asks whether upcoming capacity auctions will treat batteries fairly.

The "renewables make electricity expensive" line doesn't survive contact with data. But neither does claim that wind+solar automatically deliver cheap power. Europe 2025: all renewables r = -0.51, wind+solar only r = -0.14. Hydro does heavy lifting. Full analysis Sunday: janrosenow.substack.com

Spiralling global temperatures (1850-2026) It is exactly 10 years since I first put this animated graphic of changes in global temperature online. #ClimateSpiral It instantly went viral. People watched it over and over again. It still offers the power to shock a decade on.
