Conventional wisdom says rooftop solar meets **exisiting** electricity demand. What if rooftop solar actually **increases** electricity demand, improving living standards and driving economic growth? This is exactly what our new analysis of Pakistan's solar boom shows. Let's dig in.. 🧵

Innovation strikes again⚡ Silver use per watt of solar has fallen 15% on average EVERY YEAR for 8 years. Since 2017, solar panel manufactuing has risen 6x fold, but silver use is up only 50%🥈🩶 2026 and beyond promise further big falls following Longi+Jinko innovation.. 🧵

NEW | The EU’s battery fleet is set to QUADRUPLE from 43 GW in 2025 to 178 GW by 2030 🔋 As every country sees growth in battery capacity, the EU can absorb far more wind and solar power and reduce its reliance on gas for grid balancing. The full clean flex story below👇 🧵 1/6

NEW: Asia is going electric💡 Asia has 4% of the world's oil+gas supplies. It's perhaps no surprise Asia is doubling down on electrification. Not just China, all of Asia. If you liked last September Electrotech Revolution slidepack, you'll love this...

I was working on coal phase-out in 2016. It's hard to express how impossible it would have sounded for solar in the US to generate more than coal by 2026 over a whole month. (Even if that month is only May, which typically has more solar gen and less coal gen) So cool😎

A much-discussed “return to #coal” by some countries in the wake of the Iran war & #fossilfuel is likely to be far more limited than thought, amounting to a global rise of no more than 1.8% in coal power output this year and likely even much lower www.carbonbrief.org/world-will-n...

World ‘will not see significant return to coal’ in 2026 – despite Iran crisis - Carbon Brief

Clean-energy projects are emerging as more appealing investments during the fossil-fuel driven energy crisis.

A NEW TWIST in Africa's soaring solar story: It's now manufacturing its own panels. The factories use imported Chinese cells, which are 40% of the value of panels, keeping much of the value domestically. 9 GW of cells+wafers in Mar/Apr alone🧵
