Think I’m all done penciling this drawing! I’ll hide it away tonight and have a look again tomorrow. If it still looks cool I’ll start inking it. Will post the completed pencils on Patreon tomorrow

Decided to double the charity contribution on both my new charity prints from 25% to 50% of the proceeds. Thank you all so much for the help. That means we’re at about 800 dollars for the New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association and 1300 dollars for the Transgender Resource Center of NM.

I painted this in tribute to two master artists, David Hockney and Paul Cezanne. It features pines that I saw during my visit to Cezanne's hometown. Hockney, Cezanne, and I have always loved trees throughout our careers. I hope it is a fitting tribute. Pictured: Cezanne's Pines, 2026 #art #tribute

I recently visited Cezanne's hometown of Aix-en-Provence in southern France. I stood where he painted his famous "leaning" mountains (yes, the mountain really does lean!) All around me were immensely tall pine trees that swayed in the wind and caught the late afternoon golden light. I stood enraptured by these trees, taking about a hundred photographs of them, while I wandered around Cezanne's hilltop. This painting is a tribute not only to Cezanne but also to David Hockney, who just passed away a few days ago. Hockney loved trees as I do--and when I first began my career as an artist, I was absolutely inspired by Hockney, who was one of the most famous living painters of his time... and he painted trees and landscapes as I did. I also admire how Hockney (and Cézanne) both painted in their own signature styles, creating landscape paintings from their unique perspectives and in ways no one else was doing.
