Multiple things can be true. - Prospect hugging is not a path to future success, so Arjun Nimmala was expendable. - Jose Soriano is a good starting pitcher who will help the Blue Jays rotation for multiple seasons - Nimmala was a good enough prospect that Soriano feels like a light return.
24 teams within 4 1/2 games of a playoff berth. I know I keep hammering this point, but it's because parallel to this, MLB has built an entire labor strategy, including a media campaign, around this not being true.
The autotune on Julian Casablancas' vocals throughout Reality Awaits is like black licorice to me. Real visceral reaction that gets in the way of the music. I feel every single song would be exponentially better with it removed.

The Avengers Doomsday trailer is just 2+ minutes of jingling keys and desperate nostalgia bait. It's about what I expected, only somehow even worse. I honestly don't understand how anyone can be excited about that.
It's impossible to say for sure if The Odyssey is my favourite Christopher Nolan film after one viewing (it took three for me to feel that way about Dunkirk), but it is an enveloping, awe-inspiring, and very strange movie. It also feels like a last gasp of a bygone era in scope, style, and method.

The constant refrain I see from creatives pushing for AI is "it's inevitable" or "we need to embrace its possibility" or variations thereof. And my thought is always "like hell it is/we do." Scorsese's maybe my favourite filmmaker and he's dead wrong about the value AI possesses.
