Definitely not a cryptid pretending to be human or anything. KidLit Author, Illustrator, Designer. JasonHendrickson.com

Well, someone just emailed me and offered to pay 2.7 ETH each for 8 illustrations to turn into NFTs. While I could certainly use the 40 grand, I’m pretty sure that nobody is still making NFTs, and the two letter and a string of numbers email address is a dead giveaway of a bot scammer.

Well, sadly, BOOK! is no longer available on Amazon. The publisher shuttered the Children's Book division; the warehouse stock has been remaindered, and it's officially out of print. All that remains is in a box on my living room floor. I think my kidlit days are done.

Just to connect the dots, this is the same character (and library) as this earlier postcard... bsky.app/profile/mdas...

Hi again #KidLitArtPostcard day! I'm not sure how I found time to draw & paint this month... It's a mystery (not unlike the situation in this illo! 🔍🐸) I'm repped by @vickyweberbooks.bsky.social See more work at mdashow-kidlitart.carrd.co #kidLitArt #library #mystery #childrensillustration

A middle-grade-aged girl wearing glasses, jeans and a frog-covered sweater holds a copy of Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile and looks suspicious as she eyes the door of the library behind her. The door is ajar and a sign on it reads "Missing: Librarian."
The text on the postcard reads "Michael Dashow, mdashow-kidlitart.carrd.co, repped by Vicky Weber @ CMA."

I'm working against mental blocks right now. I have 20 paintings that need to be framed and finished. The wood for it is sitting on my dining room floor. I have at least 5 WIP manuscripts that need finishing, and 30 false starts to be retooled. Doomscrolling doesn't seem to help. #kidlitchat

Another Tuesday is here, so that means another #kidlitchat is happening here on Bluesky at 9PM Eastern/6PM Pacific. It sure seems to me to be a great day to join your #kidlit friends and compatriots to chat for an hour. If it seems that way to you, too, I hope you'll join us! See you soon....

I'm livid. A client of mine had a friend of his make changes to a shirt design I did for him using AI. Then he sent it back to me to make it work for production, rather than adressing it with me to solve the issue in the first place. I need to decide if I'm working with him anymore.
