But the publisher has told debt investors that it will cut $700 million in annual costs including $170 million in "organizational efficiencies," per Bloomberg. In other words: mass layoffs
Noticed my internet seemed wildly fast recently, turns out my ISP has upgraded me to a 500/50 plan for the same price I've always paid, and the slower plans are somehow more expensive. I love Launtel!

Until the AI firms have the ability/guts to show us per-request energy costs, it is every tech user's responsibility to avoid making frivolous use of AI, if you must use it at all. Stop using it to summarise emails, you can read, you're an adult. Stop using it in place of web searches. Think first.

Thinking about AusAlert with my QA brain gave me a headache. There is an eye-wateringly large number of high-risk edge cases to take into account and I'll bet none of its stakeholders had clear answers for most of those questions.

So for annoying reasons, I need to urgently replace my passport so I can head to Singapore for work soon. Decided to get a new 10 year one, rather than paying half the normal fee just to get the remaining 2 years left on my current one. Two expedited options: 5 days, ~$100. 2 days, ~$300.
Sick. Awesome. Thanks for that. Really preferred this to funding a Blade game by the Dishonored people or people at Obsidian having jobs.
