It took 68 days from the collapse of the USSR to russia's first invasion. And 34 *years* later, we still occupy their land. But "US billionaires & corporations" didn't want the Russia to be a democracy so that's why NATO is popular with the other countries who didn't want to be next.

Let's try this again.... I still, in part, blame the the US, its billionaires & corporations. They didn't want Russia to become a Northern European style social democracy. The US wanted what they wanted throughout much of history. That is to deal only with strongmen who controlled the shots...

How an individualistic society exacerbates the climate crisis

In this column, Jazine ten Houten argues that the individualization of society influences how we interact with nature and the climate.

‘Klokkenluider’ Jasper de Graaff legt in Buitenhof uit waarom de (VVD) Kabinetten begrotingen niet rond krijgen. Door jaarlijkse bezuiniging van honderden miljoenen op personeel van de belastingdienst blijven tientallen miljarden(!) juist oninbaar. Door bizar beleid schiet Nederland in eigen voet.

Alice Weidel is saying that Zelenskyy “is not interested in peace,” and that in order to have peace in Ukraine, “we need to take Russia’s security interests into account.” She is a straight-out Russian asset. Note how Alice recoils and refuses to acknowledge that Russia rejects making peace

🧐 Marco Rubio in 2016: “I will make this promise to you today, I will do whatever it takes....Donald Trump, a con artist, will never get control of this party...We cannot allow a con artist to get access to the nuclear codes of the United States of America.”

If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

I strongly recommend you watch Piers Morgan's recent interview with Zelenskyy. Although he still struggles a bit with speaking English, he manages to explain the consequences of Trump's recent actions and Ukraine’s point of view very well.

Italy PM Giorgia Meloni: "I do not miss the Russian tanks in Prague and Budapest. I do not miss the Berlin Wall." "Surrender is not peace" "What happens in Ukraine does not stay in Ukraine."

Meloni slams Trump's betrayal of Ukraine: "we must also consider the agreement on Russian diesel announced last Friday by the President of the United States Donald Trump. It is a choice that I consider very risky."

Italy PM Giorgia Meloni: "I do not miss the Russian tanks in Prague and Budapest. I do not miss the Berlin Wall." "Surrender is not peace" "What happens in Ukraine does not stay in Ukraine."

Meloni: "A legitimation for Moscow while its bombs continue to fall on Ukrainian cities, new revenues with which to finance the war, an implicit weakening of the sanction leverage: these are elements that we cannot ignore, and that contradict what has been done so far"

Meloni: "we must be aware that the surge in fuel prices is due primarily to the war in Iran, not to the conflict in Ukraine. Therefore, the outcome of this choice is doubtful, while the risks are clear."

‼️🇺🇸 Trump on why he doesn't call Putin a dictator: I have to make deals with people, so I don’t go around calling them names. I’m a deal maker. I’ve always been a very good deal maker. I became very rich because of deals. So I don’t go around mocking people.

Shutting off critical infrastructure without warning sets a bad precedent. If Starlink can be turned off because Elon says so, Delta airlines won't be the only one who refuses Space X's services.

Odd how "the most family friendly president we've ever had" abandoned his own when his first three children were not yet teens—to run off with one of his many mistresses. And is also a man who would rather spend every weekend cheating at golf than give a moment of attention to his youngest son.
