I know it’s a silly exercise and the hypocrisy is the point. But if a politician said to look at red cities, with their drug addictions, high crime, low education levels, etc….
Trump: "Look at the blue cities. What do they have in common? They're all dirty. They're filthy dirty. Their streets are dirty. Their streets smell. Their storefronts are broken. Their trees are all gross. Everything about the place is dirty. It's really all of them."
What makes this more blatantly ugly and horrifying is that this administration has no qualms with faking numbers, and yet, rather than do that and say less kids were bullied, they just say “fuck it.”
Department of Education will no longer track the bullying of trans & non-binary kids The lack of data collection will leave harm to the children left unreported. www.lgbtqnation.com/2026/08/depa...
this may be a hot take among smarter political minds than me, but I honestly think most modern american voters have become conditioned to think about and consider "electability" automatically, as a major part of why they vote for someone. People aren't dumb, & want to vote for someone who will win.
Hard to imagine a video could do more to immediately make someone go 'yeah, that dude beat his wife'
Rep. Max Miller: "These are incredibly serious criminal accusations. If these accusations were true, I would be in jail — I would be. My former wife would not have been offering to cook me dinner and inviting me to playgrounds. Think about that."
Why isn’t it a much bigger story that the regime leader was willing to jail an Olympian for ten years rather than admit he fucked up the reflecting pool? And that he still is claiming vandals?!?! I guess part of me is glad I still have the capacity to be appalled by this mofo.
I think it’s funny that this is billed as a “feud” over which facts were correct, when there’s not a single reason on god’s green earth why Pirro would lie about this reasoning, since it’ll probably cost her her job.
OMG “.. The disagreement between Burgum and Pirro, two longtime loyalists of the president, marked an unusual example of the administration feuding publicly with itself.” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/us-news/trum...
it really bears repeating over and over and over that the child who allegedly had her collarbone broken by her congressman dad is the granddaughter of SENATOR bernie moreno who has refused to stand up for her, or for his daughter who was allegedly abused, too. what a sick fuck.
Not only this, but the amount of money this country will be spending on employment and defamation lawsuits for the next 30 years will be utterly staggering.
I worry that most cynical among us, hopped up on 30 years of law and order rhetoric, will say "this is the system working: he didn't do anything wrong and now he's free." As if the terror and wide-scale publicity of an arrest and federal prosecution is not a horrible punishment in and of itself.

The Justice Department is admitting that a $14 million renovation on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, was flawed, and is dropping the criminal case against a former Olympian that accused him of damaging the pool, according to a new court filing. https://cnn.it/3RJJnwj
Pirro on July 2nd: "There was an effort, a violent effort, to rip up the sealant from the bottom of the pool...We can state & prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he caused damage. We believe it's his hands, his bare hands." Pirro today: Charges dropped. www.pbs.org/newshour/pol...
WATCH: U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announces felony charge related to Reflecting Pool
A former Olympian was indicted Thursday on a felony charge in what President Donald Trump has called vandalism of the Reflecting Pool.

There are only three possible futures: a) everyone in the Trump admin goes to jail, rule of law partially restored; b) Dems retaliate in full, and maybe that's a deterrent; c) neither (a) nor (b), so lawless authoritarianism wins again, and when Republicans regain power they ramp it up even more.
“Trump has rejected disaster aid for Democratic-run states at the highest rate in the 47-year history of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.” Right now people in blue states are basically paying federal taxes as if they’re colonized territories of red states. www.politico.com/news/2026/03...
It’s underrated how egregious and obvious this particular offense is, as well as how easily it could be argued. And yet, you just don’t see enough elected folks with pitchforks over this.
literally impeach him just for this
This is morally monstrous behavior. These are ordinary, innocent people that Trump is condemning to suffering & death out of political vindictiveness. Every decent human being, regardless of political party, should condemn it. Where is the fucking *anger*? From the press? From civic leaders? Pols?
FEMA said yes to Democratic disaster requests. Trump killed them anyway.
President Donald Trump cast aside bipartisan precedent when he rejected eligible disaster requests from four blue states.

Bari Weiss & Nick Bilton are busy trying to recruit talent for their revamped "60 Minutes," conducting dozens of screen tests. And CBS News leaders "have also expressed a desire to air hidden camera-style investigative pieces" on the show. The scoop in @status.news www.status.news/p/60-minutes...
It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

My favorite part is when Musk says more Europeans die from heat than Americans die from guns. Musk asks why The Economist doesn't write about air conditioning. She explains they do. "Pro-air conditioning?” asks Musk. “Very pro-air conditioning,” she responds. “You should read us sometime.”
