Woke up at 11am. Before I opened my eyes, it had already started. Bad dad. Can't even get up. You're a mess. That voice doesn't wait for you to be conscious. One popup on screen stopped the spiral. Then I built the feature that came out of it.

You called it "too many tabs." Here is what you were actually looking at." The ADHD brain has no filter. Everything screams at the same volume. Most apps try to "fix" you. I built a prosthetic for the part of the brain that's missing. It is called NeuroRythm.
I nearly missed my son's therapy appointment this morning. Not because I forgot. Not because I don't care. Because I have ADHD, and Thursday looks exactly like Wednesday in my brain until something catches it.
Private beta is live. 208,000 lines of code. 9 months. Built with ADHD, for ADHD brains. NeuroRythm isn't another productivity app telling you to just try harder. It's a full system built around how our brains actually work... .
Nine months ago I had 663 apps on my phone. Not metaphorically. I kept a count. All sucked. So I built one myself. 203,000 lines of code, no formal coding background, living in a converted bus, single dad... and a brain that works completely differently to the one all those apps were designed for.
175,000 lines of Python. 7 months of ADHD hyperfocus. I wanted to see what that actually looks like, so I ran a visualization tool on the #NeuroRythm codebase from August to now. Here is how a system for neurodivergent minds actually grows. 🧵 👇

663 Apps Couldn't Fix My ADHD Brain. So I Built NeuroRythm.
663 apps. Seven months. 150,000 lines of code. No formal programming background. This is the story of why every productivity app failed my ADHD brain — and what I built instead.

@brianpenny.bsky.social So I see you are trying to find another home to spread your bullshit on. Screenshots are forever. Stop the lies and the hate. Do better.
I built AI that reviewed my own story. It gave it 2.75 out of 5. Stung for about three seconds. Then I thought, fucking perfect. That's honest feedback. That's what writers actually need. Full story → blog.writerswithoutwalls.com/i-built-ai-t...
As expected, Brian Penny didn't want to be called out on this platform, where he's trying to keep up the illusion, so he blocked me. Apparently he's selective about who he keeps trying to abuse, and surprise surprise, it's women he goes after. Put this prick on blast, folks. He's gross.
Gosh, I can't imagine. This clown will likely block me soon, but he goes by "Brian Penny" and if you want to see a deranged mind at work, go check out how he behaves on Threads when women say things he doesn't like. It's "cover your drink and get a restraining order" stuff.

"There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that you're ADHD." I'd braced for an argument. 663 apps. A script I built myself that still didn't work. Years of what is wrong with you. Nothing was wrong with me. The tools were just never built for us. So I built one that was. Link in the comments.
I built my own productivity tool from scratch. It worked perfectly. I still didn't use it. That's the moment I stopped thinking I was the problem. The apps were never built for my brain. So I built one that was. Full story → Link in comments
After years of abandoning every productivity app within a week, I finally understood: we aren't broken, the tools are. So I built NeuroRythm - a productivity system that works WITH ADHD brains instead of trying to fix us. The software is 70% done (not vaporware, actual working code).

Looking for more victims... I mean, volunteers 😅 Diagnosed, self-diagnosed or just suspected ADHD. No judgement here. So I had 6 (at least) projects running simultaneously. My story writing concepts here, another learning thing there, work stuff everywhere.

I half expected it to happen, but I also thought my account was too small. The "free speech" platform has limited my account, with no way of appealing. Lol. #fucktwitter Elon Musk is the biggest threat to democracy out there today. open.substack.com/pub/jamesdar...

When I left X, I left 260000ish followers who cared about the NHS. This is bad because the NHS is in a state of emergency and EveryDoctor has just launched an important petition. If you can see this, please could you follow me and share this? 🤞💙🚨
Elon Musk: "AI is dangerous; we need to regulate it!" Also Elon Musk: Expands AI supercomputer to a million GPUs. 🤔 Here’s a thread on Musk's AI hypocrisy and what it means for the future of tech. 🧵
There’s no such thing as working productively with MAGA nihilists like Elon, Vivek and RFK, Jr. They want to bring down our Republic. Don’t normalize them by pointing out a few of their good ideas. You can’t play nice with the leopards. Let them into your house and they will eat your face.
