Hockey, baseball, mental health, medical assistance in dying (MAID) for mental illness as a sole underlying medical condition (MI-SUMC), outrage at the world on fire

There is a player on the LA Queens, Brittany Apgar, who has a limb difference and traveled back to Illinois from receiving her first ever batting prosthetic *today* and is 3-for-3 in her first game playing with one. Incredibly cool.

Since no one takes me seriously anyway, a couple personal positions I want to make clear on MAID for mental illness: - It has been more than two months since CMHAs National, New Brunswick, Manitoba and Alberta signed onto a letter advocating for a permanent ban on MAID for mental illness.

@seanfraser.bsky.social Will you also disavow this (made after invoking the Ten Commandments): "A state that starts tinkering with the concept of killing being wrong, to rationalize it as 'sometimes justified', is on a very dark path." This is an attack on all MAiD - made in the name of your party.

Then look at statement in this opinion "of the Liberal Party of Canada" which states that "The option to end one’s life remains, irrespective of MAiD, readily available in Canada. Furthermore, there are painless options readily available. One example being illicit narcotics like fentanyl."

The "Supplemental Opinion of the Liberal Party of Canada" says "The option to end one’s life remains, irrespective of MAiD, readily available in Canada. Furthermore, there are painless options readily available. One example being illicit narcotics like fentanyl."

"'MAiD access for patients with mental illness will be a government decision,' Carney says." So decision will be to tell them no access to MAiD - instead they can die by suicide by using illegal narcotics like fentanyl??? That's what the "Supplemental Opinion of the Liberal Party of Canada" says...

These are the voices the Parliamentary Committee majority refused to hear before making their recommendation to "indefinitely exclude" them from access to MAiD (and breach their Charter rights). Holding out faint hope the Government will do due diligence before making decision on MAiD MI-SUMC.

Canadians with mental illness who saw MAID as an option feel abandoned: 'They've left me with nothing'

TORONTO - Betrayed. Dehumanized. Devastated.
