Was the “why didn’t Thanos just double the food?” joke in Spider Man the most self-aware joke in franchise history?

The year of Linux on the desktop. Bottom line says “installing a bunch of stuff, chill”. I think.
Life in Cleveland. Seeing Primus at Jacob's Pavillion with my son. The first time I saw Primus was at this same venue in 1993. For some reason the most intense moment was seeing Sean Lennon rocking out next to Lar LeLonde.
Tried that new Claude Design thing today. Gotta say I'm impressed with what he came up with: claudezengarden.vercel.app

Today is my birthday. I just now realized that a certain segment of my friends send me greetings early in the day. Perhaps out of worry that later in the day they may be prone to forgetfulness. 4/20.
Not loving how most discussion of software is now "This new github repo has 29 billion stars and will change your life!" and it's like a 50 line markdown file.
Feels weird that my house shook and windows rattled this morning. And then finding out so did most people’s across the northern part of Ohio. And the “oh, it was just a 20 ton meteor, no biggie” says something about the state of the world.
"Act as if all your words will be used to train LLMs over and over again, eternally." - Nietzsche, maybe. "Act only according to that maxim by which you could simultaneously will that it become training data." - Kant, maybe.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer. He is a computer safety researcher. And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine. In under 1600 words. aphyr.com/posts/397-i-...
Busy day switching our Halloween decorations for Christmas.
Got to see the legend Herbie Hancock last night here in Cleveland. Fantastic show, fantastic band, fantastic keytar.
Took my son last night to hear the Cleveland Orchestra perform Beethoven's 9th. We were right up front. I'd prescribe that for anyone that needs a joy injection. Which is about everyone, I think. So priveleged to live in Cleveland and have this available.
Spotted in the grocery store parking lot. Waited a long time to proposition whoever owns the car. Got tired. #genx
See young people? This is what you get if you wear the right clothes to the meeting and show proper deference. I guess. A wasted year and so many lives.
JUST IN: President Donald Trump says Ukraine is in a position to "fight and WIN" back its original borders, an abrupt shift from his bids to broker peace in Russia's war in Ukraine. https://cnn.it/46EIKYt
Had a consult with a surgeon for a minor outpatient thing. He said post-op I could alternate Advil and Tylenol. I gave him a grin. He said “I’m not getting political but JESUS CHRIST THAT GUY!” Hired. Cut me oh woke surgeon.
If a Democratic governor talks about punching people in the mouth, he is obviously filled with insatiable bloodlust. If a Republican president talks about punching people in the mouth, you’re the violent one for thinking he was being serious.

I’m really overwhelmed by the initial response. Thank you so much. Truly. I beg your patience while I share this a bunch more times in the coming weeks.
For over a year now I’ve worked so hard and tried everything I could to avoid this. But I couldn’t save enough, so here we are. I made a Gofundme. Depending on the outcome I will either hire an expensive immigration lawyer and give it one more try, or pack up and use the money to start over.
As we all know, the United States is the only country on the planet where these drugs exist. It definitely has to be the drugs that we alone use. Can’t be something else.
RFK Jr on the mass shooting in Minnesota: "We're launching studies on the potential contribution of some of the SSRI drugs and some of the other psychiatric drugs that might be contributing to violence."
The new DEVO doc on Netflix is so good. I grew up in Akron, OH in the 70s and 80s and it was weird seeing them get popular as a sort of "novelty" band. People would mention the whip, the "flower pots" and miss the whole point. DEVO were more "punk" than the punks, more to say than any other band.
I teach and mentor software development teams. Have been since ~1995. I swear the whole "AI" thing is the most uncomfortable topic I've ever had to face. There are some that are so optimistic that *any* skepticism at all is met with vitriol. And it is always, it seems, the least skilled developers.
Rarely do I find code assistants helpful in the work I’m paid to do. But it can be fun building stuff I’ve wanted but too lazy to make myself. I teach online and have students across the country. Behold, vibe-coded break timer. timer-lemon-theta.vercel.app

A Quick Note About JasperFx’s Plans for Marten & Wolverine

Finally finished The Brutalist last night. Beautiful film, great acting - but I just didn't like it. It reminded of that Tar film from a couple years ago. I just don't like fictionalized morality tales of things we actually have plenty of "real" examples of. Just me?
