Specifically to add to this, it is very disheartening to be in spaces that claim to be inclusive to everyone yet constantly reward people that intimidate or otherwise abuse women, and members of the LGBTQIA. if you don't think that is actively happening, open your eyes. it's happening right now.
Minti@minti.zip · 4w agoBy that kind of stuff I'm talking about pedo/abuse/groomer allegations, serious stuff. I will never understand why online treats stuff like it's not an issue and rewards those that are genuinely bad. Morality should matter over music.

But a big point of that piece is that maintaining a subculture is hard because if you put the wall up too high, or get too fucking angry and chase out people all the time, then you are basically creating an unsustainable culture where it becomes inevitable that entropy will eventually kill it.
