Spent an afternoon at a lake in Eastern Kansas with a few friends. Her aunt’s lake house seating vignettes were enchanting. This one captured my imagination.

The hole in the shell is from a carnivorous snail that has a special tongue called a radula. The radula is covered in tiny teeth and it drills through the shell to get its meal. It’s probably more like teeth of a saw blade but I picture it differently.
