I'm watching Glen Hansard's funeral on my computer while the Blanche committee meeting is on (silent) the tv, and I am reminded yet again and not for the last time today, how fucked up the world is.

School starts here on the 24th, And I don't have kids in the school system so I don't know what they need. What should I stock the little free pantry with for the elementary and middle school and high school kids who walk by either to school or the bus stop?

What a fucking sham and circus this Dr Fauci "hearing" is. They will really drag everyone up & accuse them of the most stupid things rather than 1. Govern and 2. Confront their own complicity in this administration's ruination of the United States. 3. Epstein Files. Finally: Fuck You Ron Johnson

Update, Jose is leaving on Friday, not the 28th, but it looks like we got his flights and all associated costs, most medical needs covered. Thank you for your generosity. We are sending him home to his family with the love of this community. But he'll be missed terribly by our little family.

Friends, you may remember me talking about here (and on the podcast) about our beloved neighbor Jose who has adopted us and who we have adopted in return. Earlier this week Jose had a cardiac event and was in the hospital for two days and nights and is on a boatload of medication and cannot work. 1/

Thank you so very much to everyone who helped raise the funds for our beloved Jose's airfare to El Salvador, his meds, and other expenses. Ben and I continue to sort out the details w/him to ensure he has what he needs but your generosity is such a gift. Here's his fav kitty-Payasito aka Clown Shoes

Payasito (little clown) is a grey and white tuxedo cat with a very small mouth and a very pink nose, and green eyes. He is sitting on the bed looking at something behind me and over my shoulder. He is Jose's favorite of the cats and when Jose spent Christmas with us, Payasito would not get off Jose's lap and so he ate with one hand petting the cat and the other hand with a fork. When Clown Shoes hears him downstairs in the basement (where Ben's office is,) he will trot down to say hi and hope for some pets.

I have sent some photos of Rufus, Waffles, and Clown Shoes ("Payasito")who is #1 cuddler when he is over to Walgreens for printing and pickup, and a picture of how pretty the garden is that he helped us build (or we helped him build) and the Easter inflatables--he loves those things.

I just donated for Jose. Men like him are my absolute favorites to work alongside when I've volunteered in Guatemala.
