One thing that pisses me off of residential school deniers is they always bring up the “fact” that these children died from diseases such as tuberculosis. These children wouldn’t have contracted those diseases in the first place if they weren’t kidnapped. (1)

Ok so I really enjoyed the puppet episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. It was ridiculous in all the right ways. I guessed the ending but I don't care. Also, more T'Pring, please.

People acting like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is crossing a weirdness line Trek has never crossed before have forgotten about Beverly Crusher's family fuck boi.

Dr. Crusher (nee Howard) from Star Trek: TNG stands with an anaphasic life form taking the appearance of the 800 year old ghost of a man who has been having an affair with ostensibly the first born women of the Howard women since c.1560. Crusher's red hair is styled
curly & she is wearing essentially glamour make up. The man has almost shoulder length hair & is wearing a dark outfit one would expect from 16th century Scotland & England. Instead of literally fucking with these women, he was fucking with their brain chemistry creating a de facto dependence on him. He used them as hosts like a parasite. One supposes the first of these women, Jessel Howard, was lonely? I guess. So he went the seducer route & sort of became the hereditary fuck boi.

This week on B*tch, Listen, @angryblacklady.bsky.social breaks down what Michigan shows us about how quickly "protected" becomes negotiable.

The Right to an Abortion Doesn’t Actually Pay for An Abortion (Podcast) – Rewire News Group

Fifty years after Henry Hyde first decided to target poor women and eliminate Medicaid coverage for abortion, abortion funding is still an aspect of reproductiv

I cannot emphasized this enough. We need to break benefits from employment. That should never have been part of the equation and is a baked in negative consequence of prior policy change that is unique to our history.

Hot take: fundamentally the employee/contractor distinction should be much less important because we should not be using companies as a benefit delivery mechanism for their employees
